Dr. Carla Thomas (She/Her/ Hers) is president and founder of The Realize Leadership Group. She is passionate about improving dialogues across difference while pushing the boundaries of practical organizational development approaches that create inclusive environments.
Having worked with clients ranging from higher education to global fortune 500 organizations in sectors that include: Higher Education, Technology, Life Sciences, Financial Services, Retail, and Consumer Goods, Dr. Thomas currently holds a faculty position within Villanova University’s Human Resources Graduate Program as well as various programs within The University of Pennsylvania. She sits on the advisory boards of Saint Joseph’s University’s Organizational & Leadership Development graduate program, The Academy of Natural Sciences and the American Public University System. She is an active member of the NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Sciences, Philadelphia Society of People and Strategy, the Society for Human Resource Management, the Organizational Development Network, and the Inclusion Allies Coalition.

A graduate of Vanderbilt University and Saint Joseph’s University, Dr. Thomas completed her doctorate work at The University of Pennsylvania. As a scholar practitioner her research explores psycho-social and organizational factors that mitigate the negative effects of implicit bias in the workplace.
Dr. Tanya O’Neill is a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Crusader. She uses her expertise as a strategist, consultant, public speaker, facilitator, and coach to help leaders, teams, organizations, and individual contributors develop the skills and work environments that positively impact people, performance and productivity.
Her diverse academic credentials include a degree in Nursing (BSN), Human Services (MHS) and Psychology (PsyD). She also holds multiple professional certifications that include: MBTI, Crucial Conversations, Emotional Intelligence Learning System (EILS), and Diversity Practitioner. Alongside her background in leadership development and DEIB, she is a military veteran having served with the United States Air Force. Dr. O’Neill combines logic and her research on emotional intelligence to help others see the positive business impact that comes through embracing diversity, and championing emotional intelligence as a means of driving inclusion.
She is a native Philadelphian who enjoys helping individuals and teams cultivate their own unique inner brilliance and develop that competitive edge.
Tracy Joyner (She/Her/Hers) is a Sr. Consultant, Inclusive Talent Acquisition leader dedicated to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). Her work focuses on customizing and scaling diverse and equitable talent recruiting strategies through targeted campaigns. With over 20 years of talent acquisition experience, she has also played a leading role in the implementation of Fortune 30 award-winning DEIB programming that has driven in increased diverse leadership. As an innovative thinker who consults with senior leaders to anticipate trends and business needs— Tracy believes that organizations not only need to build awareness internally to model equality in the communities in which they serve; but also, architect new standards for measuring corporate success, sustainability, and viability for diversity recruitment.
She is professionally certified in the areas of Strategic Talent Sourcing, Diversity Pipeline Management, and Professional Recruitment. A graduate of The University of Virginia, she has continued her professional career development with coursework in Change Leadership through Indiana University Kelley School of Business.
As a wife to Charles and new mother to Kingsley and Sasha, Tracy is also a singer-songwriter and worship leader. Her authentic purpose is to love people, show kindness, and serve change while being based out of Richmond, Virginia.
Joanna Thomas (She/Her/Hers) is the director of Recruiting Services. She has a diverse background including account recruiting, and account management for fortune 500 companies, and experience as a clinician. She has proven sales and management success of delivering competitive recruiting strategies for her clients. Her competitive nature awarded multiple promotions that was heavily weighted on her ability to create and maintain authentic relationships with her clients.
She is most inspired by promoting kindness, empathy, and the opportunity to be and make a positive impact on a company’s culture. To be a part of the Realize Leadership Group recruiting efforts allows her to fulfill and drive change that is essential for the growth of society and future generations.
She has a BA degree in Sociology from the University of Virginia where she was a scholarship athlete, and a BSN degree (nursing) from Texas Christian University. Joanna was born and raised in Oregon. She currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband, Arthur, three children, Simon, Jacqueline, and Asher.
